Tara Devi Temple Shimla

The Tara Devi Temple is located at a distance of 11 km from Shimla on the Shimla – Kalka National Highway. The temple is dedicated to Goddess Tara and stands on Tara Devi hilltop between Shimla and Shoghi and is a very popular visiting spot for tourists and devotees.

The temple was built over 250 years ago and holds a great spiritual value for devotees. There is a belief that Goddess Tara was brought to Himachal Pradesh all the way from Bengal. It is believed that a king from the Sen Dynasty had a locket which contained a small gold idol of his family deity, Goddess Tara. He visited this area over a hundred years ago wearing the locket tied around his upper arm. The idol remained encompassed and passed on through the many generation of the Sen Dynasty. But during the 96th generation dynasty, King Bhupendra Sen had an unusual vision near the current location of the temple, while he had been hunting, of his family deity Tara Devi

From here on, for a while roads are good but mostly, turn into a bad shape with work going on (the hydro electric power station). But the views make up for it. From Rampur, you pass thru Jeori (23kms), Wangtu (37kms) and finally Karcham (20kms). The road from Wangtu to Karcham is in a bad state and occasionally the road is blocked for a couple of hours due to landslide. At Karcham, a right goes to Sangla valley, take a left towards Recong Peo/Kalpa (35kms). At Recong Peo, there are two options, a longer 13kms or a shorter steeper 7km route. You can take another shorter 7km route, riding between apple orchads, narrow roads, in complete isolation. And if you are here between Dec and Feb, you will be greeted with atleast 5-6 frozen waterfalls by the road between Peo and Kalpa. CLIMATE : In winter, the temperature hovers around freezing point with snowfall and heavy woolens are required. In summer, the climate is mild and light woolens / cottons are recommended.

हिमाचल प्रदेश के जिला चंबा में छतराड़ी स्थित मां शिव शक्ति के बारे में कुछ जानकारी हमारी संस्कृति देवत्व प्रधान संस्कृति रही है। देवत्व यानि देनेवाली संस्कृति, समर्पण की संस्कृति। हिमाचल एक प्राकृतिक क्षेत्र है जिसके बारह जिलों में चंबा जिला अपनी प्राकृतिक छटा एवं देवी देवताओं के कारण सुप्रसिद्ध है। जब हम चंबा से भरमौर की ओर जाते हैं तो कल-कल करती रावी अपनी मधुर ध्वनि से सभी सैलानियों को अपनी और आकर्षित कर लेती है।

हिमाचल प्रदेश की करसोग घाटी के ममेल गांव में स्थित ममलेश्वर महादेव मंदिर के बारे में मान्यता है कि यह महाभारत कालीन मंदिर है। यह मंदिर भगवान शिव और मां पार्वती को समर्पित है। कहा जाता है कि पांडवों ने अपने अज्ञातवास का कुछ समय इसी गांव में बिताया था। इस मंदिर का निर्माण उन्हीं के द्वारा कराया गया था। यह मंदिर पैगोड़ा मिश्रित शैली में बना हुआ है।

हिमाचल प्रदेश के जिला सिरमौर के मुख्यालय नाहन से लगभग १६ किलोमीटर की दूरी पर दक्षिण पश्चिम में मध्यम ऊँचाई की पर्वत शृंखला की तलहटी में घने वन के आँचल में एक रमणीक एवं पावन स्थल है, जिसे पिहोवा या त्रिलोकपुर के नाम से न केवल हिमाचल अपितु समस्त उत्तर भारत में जाना जाता है। त्रिलोकपुर जैसा कि नाम से ही स्पष्ट होता है। यह तीन शक्तियों का संगम है। जो माँ दुर्गा के तीन स्वरूपों को दर्शाता है। मुख्य मन्दिर जो त्रिलोकपुर में स्थित है माता बालासुन्दरी का है।

शिमला की सात पहाड़ीयाँ हिमाचल प्रदेश की वर्तमान राजधानी शिमला जोकि कभी गर्मीयों में भारतवर्ष की राजधानी हुआ करती थी। यही संसार का शहरी जंगल है। जहाँ शिमला का इतिहास और विरासत का एक विशाल राशि-आसुत किया गया है, तथा वहीं शिमला सात पहाड़ियों से गिरा हुआ है। उनमें से एक पहाड़ी कामना देवी को समर्पित है, और उसे प्रोस्पेक्ट हिल से जाना जाता है। सातों पहाड़ियों में सब से ऊँची पहाड़ी २४५५ मीटर है। जाखु पहाड़ी शिमला के उपर एक ताज की तरह शोभित है। पहाड़ी के उपर एक छोटा सा सुंदर मंदिर, ऎसा लगता है कि, जैसे ताज पर रूबी जड़ा हो। पहाड़ी के उपर पहुँचने तक, १.५ कि.मी. की चढ़ाई रिज़ से ही शुरू हो जाती है।
